Julien completed his Bachelor’s degree in Earth Sciences at the University of Geneva in 2020 and he is finishing up his Masters degree in Geology in the Structural Geology and Tectonics Group of ETH under the supervision of Dr. Jonas Ruh. His research is focused on the dating of a continental sedimentary series in the Karvandar basin, southern Iran. Due to the detritical nature of the sediments, the series has never been dated precisely. After a field campaign in February of 2022, Julien and Jonas are dating the series using magnetostratigraphy. Knowing the precise timing of the deposition of this series will help him to further investigate the regional tectonic processes that are shaped southern Iran.
