Emily Hinshaw

Emily is a doctoral student in the Structural Geology and Tectonics group. She received her BSc in Geology from the College of William & Mary (Virginia, USA) in 2020 under the supervision of Dr. Chuck Bailey. In 2022, she received her MSc in Geological Sciences from the Jackson School of Geosciences, the University of Texas at Austin (Texas, USA) under the supervision of Dr. Danny Stockli. Her Master’s work focused on the structural and stratigraphic framework of coherently underplated packages of blueschists at Mt. Ossa and the Pelion peninsula, eastern Thessaly, Greece. In this project, she used U-Pb LA-ICP-MS depth profiling of zircon and apatite to investigate provenance, maximum depositional ages (MDA), and the timing of HP subduction metamorphism.
