Betti Hegyi

Betti Hegyi received her Bachelor’s degree in Earth Sciences in 2018 and her Master’s degree in Geophysics in 2021 from Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary. Her master thesis focused on the geodynamical modelling of orogenic fold-and-thrust belts, with special attention to triangle zone formation and the mechanical reasons responsible for back-thrust initiation. In March 2021, she started her Doctorate at ETH Zürich, working with Whitney Behr, Luca Dal Zilio and Taras Gerya, which amis to better understand fluid driven seismicity and earthquake cycles along strike-slip fault zones and subduction zones.
